International Energy Agency (IEA)

International Energy Agency (IEA): "Our future: A golden age for natural gas? 29 March 2011 IEA analysis looks at the rapid growth in supply of ‘unconventional’ gas and liquefied natural gas Back in 2006, a handful of energy experts met on the fringes of the World Gas Conference to discuss the challenges of increasing output of ‘unconventional’ gas. Three years later the same subject was discussed at the same event, but this time the speakers found themselves at the heart of the conference and with a capacity crowd to contend with. read more..."

Fayetteville Shale Gas: Decline vs. Lateral length

This is a typical evolutionary cycle of the unconventional shale gas play. Verical wells get bigger and bigger fracs. Then the horizonatal learning curve starts. The laterals increasingly become longer, which results in an increasing number of frac stages. Just a couple of years ago, SWN was hoping to get out 3500'.
Oh yeah, and gas is under $4.00/mcf.

Haynesville Shale Reserves

The map above illustrates the wide areal extent of Petrohawks mapping of the estimated ultimate gas reserves (EUR) in the Haynesville shale formation. This map was published by Petrohawk as a slide in their recent corporate presentation.
